Multiple Moral Islands

There are many near-in moral horizons, encircling single individuals and small groups of people ("Us four, and no more" was a saying during the Great Depression) makes for countless possible combinations of "Us and Them."

The more each "cell" described by its moral boundary expands to encompass other sentient entities around it, the fewer boundaries there are, because the fewer moral horizon-bounded entities there are.
