the big picture at cap one, in my experience, is to find evermore obscured ways to charge ever-higher fees and interest rates while making believe that the company is honorable.
Cap One lost all honor when they and other credit companies paid armies of lobbyists to run roughshod over usury laws, laws that were created wisely for good reason.
let's face it: Cap one is a more than a good bit glorified loan shark. they spend millions making advertisements trying to entice people into buying pleasures they can't afford at absurd interest rates. success for them is to get someone on the hook for life paying high interest rates and fat penalty fees.
I left Cap One when I just could no longer ignore being a bloodsucker of the desperate and/or ignorant and/or suggestible (reference advertisements showing someone leaning over the railing of a cruise ship looking at the sunset while getting slammed for a $29 late fees, which puts them overlimit, which incurs another $29 fe for being overlimit, all at usurious interest rate, all because they couldn't get onto the cap one server which is often "down" to make their payment, and didn't have time to cut through the layers of bureaucracy fix the problem, which of course, cap one billers are very aware is revenue generating obstacle).
Just couldn't look my quickly maturing kids in the eye and tell them what Daddy did for a living. I owed it to them to do something better for money. Fortunately, i have skills in other areas. To those trapped at Cap one being servants to a loan shark organization to put food on the table: Hang in there, work hard to find a way out, and you can get out. Don't give up. You can do it. You don't have to live this way.
