My review of The God Delusion

Permalink to my Amazon review of "The God Delusion" by Richard Dawkins.

Look, I could bury you all in reading that, if you bothered to follow up on it, would cause you take pause, 

But I can tell that you have become so convinced of your notion that god has not been proven that you aren't even going to bother to investigate.

(Why am I wasting my time with these guys, anyway?)

OK, just in case you really want to learn, job one for you is to establish that the individual human consciousness can operate apart the body. 

This can be a first step toward understanding that there is a larger consciousnesses above us -- not a mere robot creating a Matrix-type reality, but a real consciousness, of which our individual consciousnesses are participants, and sort of "franchisees".

To do that, your first assignment is to read the book Soul Survivor by Bruce Leininger.

Don't just pigeonhole it and wave it away without reading it. Don't just skim it and dismiss it. Don't just read biased reviews and go about your way.

Read it. 

The whole thing. 

Unless you have some huge internalized vested need to ignore or misinterpret what is presented there, you will walk away seriously considering (at minimum) that the existence of your consciousness is not dependent on your body. 

Allowing for this possibility will permit your seriously considering that we are more than just a passive avalanche of physical vectors cascading down the corridor of Time. It will be a first step to understanding that consciousness and decision-making are *participants* in creation, and that creation is more than just billiard balls deterministically bouncing off one another.

It's a baby step, but at the same time a huge step toward breaking free of the shackles of a clockwork deterministic view of the universe.

Remember: You have to read the whole thing. From that, further steps can be taken.
