Forced Adoption of Superior Technology

Tough love isn't alway motivating the forced adoption of superior technology.

Greed mated with might sometimes brings about the adoption of new technology.

Think of the American Indians.

Someone is going to prevail in a clash of technologies. The moral question comes from discussing the annexing of existing cultures such as the Indians with a technologically superior culture, whether to avoid the clash at all, out of respect.

When survival is the imperative, or when other deep drives (such as the desire for power), is the imperative, the technologically superior culture will absorb the technologically inferior one.

A major transformation point would come when the society is so well-taken care of materially and emotionally that absorbing an technologically inferior culture becomes an option, not an imperative.

There are forces, for example, that want to shield some of the isolated stone-age level human groups that have turned up in remote areas of the world. If the "haves" of this world were in a sufficient majority and were willing to use force to restrain the have-nots, then there would be a situation of there being a technologically inferior culture not being absorbed by a technologically superior one.

This same situation is happening with animals. The haves are more and more restraining the have-nots from slaughtering species and habitats.
