This was a post to Blowback, a Doonesbury feedback section on Slate.com
I adore Doonesbury. I think it is one of the great cultural accomplishments of our age. I consistently marvel at GBT's ability to find subtleties and amplify them loudly and clearly. Just amazing.
That said, I seldom like the strips where the reader is directly addressed by the characters, or by the author. I just don't find them funny or clever.
