No gender gap in pay

There is exceptionally compelling research, using information primarily from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, showing that women are paid the same as men when they make the same career decisions. The disparity in pay comes from women's choices, not from discrimination. Women tend to choose lower-paying jobs, and tend to choose to work fewer hours than men. When women run their own businesses, they tend to make choices that result in lower incomes than men in the same situations. There is no "progress" to be made: We have arrived; we have gender equality in the workplace. Google "the Gender Pay Gap is a Complete Myth" on cbsnews DOT com.

The above received a thumbs-down form a reader.  I replied thusly (and accidentally deleted part of the post, and was not able to edit it):
I am baffled as to why anyone would give my post a thumbs down, other than they don't like dissenting facts put in front of them....? I know it is comforting for many women believe that women have been wronged, and to feel that despite women's best efforts [they are still being unfairly shortchanged in the workplace]. It must be difficult to suddenly have to face the possibility that women's economic position in the United States nowadays is a result of their decisions, and not because of men's unfairness. There is sort of a sorority of women who gather strength and comfort from feeling like they are oppressed, and giving up that warm tribal feeling can be hard. It's hard to discover the war you have put your heart and soul into doesn't make sense anymore. Change can be painful.

Sorry! Accidentally deleted a part of a sentence in the previous post. My bad! the point is, it's time to adapt. Women have won equality in the U.S. business world. Your work in that area is done. Now, feminists, go forward and direct your powerful and transformative energies to India, Africa and China, and other global locales where the feminist movement is badly needed. The US is doing fine, thanks to your efforts.
