Post about Brandon's skeptical book about the paranormal

Thank you, Loes, for your review. It is easy to be swept away by the oft-simplistic perspectives of the skeptics (who, I hasten to strongly emphasize, do a great deal of good work -- but who are also human and can and do fall prey to the sway of groupthink, or sloppy research practices).

I would like to add for the benefit of the general readership that a much more nuanced, balanced, and thorough treatment of this subject can be found in other books. Here are some of them: Randi's Prize, by Robert McLuhan; and, the trilogy of books by Chris Carter. Read these books start to finish with a sincere open mind, and the limitations of Brandon's work will become as clear as an x-ray of a fractured bone.

Ms. Brandon, are you listening?
